FAQ

Common questions about Chromatics

Holla @logicallysynced if you've got more questions and we'll do our best to answer.

  • What is Chromatics?

Chromatics is a lightweight third-party app that runs in the background of your computer and attached to Final Fantasy XIV to enable various lighting effects and palettes on your RGB enabled devices (such as keyboards, mouse, headset, etc). Additionally it can connect with your mobile or tablet device using the Logitech ARX app or inbuilt Logitech LCD's and provide off-screen data to be used as a second screen.

  • Do I need any other programs installed to use Chromatics?

Unlike the original version of Chromatics, which relied on Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT), Chromatics 2 is a standalone application which runs on its own. You will need the latest drivers and software from your device manufacturer to run Chromatics however; please check out our download page for a complete list of requirements.

  • What devices does Chromatics support?

Chromatics currently supports RGB enabled devices built by Razer, Logitech, Corsair & Coolermaster and smartbulbs developed by LIFX and Philips HUE (Coming Soon). For a complete list of supported devices, please check out our compatibility checker.

  • Will you support other manufacturers/devices?

During the Beta release of Chromatics 2 we will be focussing on the devices currently supported to iron out as many bugs as we can. After that we will be looking at adding support for other RGB device manufacturers. If you have a suggestion of a manufacturer you would like to see supported, please contact us and we will try our best to investigate it for you.

  • How do I setup Logitech ARX to work with my mobile/tablet device.

Please visit our download page for instructions on how to setup Logitech ARX with your mobile/tablet device. Please note that Logitech ARX support in Chromatics is still in alpha stages of development?

  • I found a bug or something isn't working quite right, how can I report it?

If you wish to submit a big report, please do so using our GitHub page for Chromatics, so one of our development team can look into it ASAP for you. Since Chromatics is still in Beta, we expect there to be quite a few bugs to be squashed, so please bear with us.

  • I want to help develop Chromatics, how can I get involved?

Chromatics is designed as a C# Windows Application running .NET Framework 4.6. If you would like to get involved developing, please contact me and we will see about getting you on board! You will need a Visual Studio Team Services account.
